Productive Planning

Many planning approaches, strategic or otherwise, are an exercise in fantasy. Every year new fads come along to put people in touch with yet another part of the proverbial elephant.

Productive planning draws on many approaches. At its best, it involves people in imagining your organization and goals in a larger context. This means not only looking ahead but also behind and around, learning about the environment as well as yourselves.

It can be as simple as an afternoon spent reflecting and looking ahead, or as elaborate as a series of events over months as more and more data is drawn in.
