Planning a Fruitful Meeting:

Outside Facilitators Help When:

you want to get a lot done and aren’t sure how to accomplish it.

you want to do more than just sit around and talk. You want to be sure that people get into the conversation and have some fun, and there are results for which people are accountable.

everyone’s participation is important, and you need a professional to be sure that happens, or you want your best in-house facilitator to participate.

people are really mad at each other or have other strong feelings that need to be aired.

you need a neutral person in whom everyone has confidence to keep the discussion even-handed and balanced.
the meeting is “high stakes” in terms of issues (expand the mission vastly) or participants (new Board members who are prominent and need to be incorporated into the group).
